27September 2015 at the Siberian Federal University IIIr Interethnic Festival "Youth Commonwealth" took place. The event was attended by over 200 people.

The festival is a platform for international communication. This year 50 representatives of 6 different nationalities: Kyrgyz, Azerbaijanis, Tajiks, Tatars, Yakuts and Russian attended the event.

During the festival the platforms representing life and culture of different nationalities were taking place. There also was an exhibition of traditional national costumes. All the participants were offered hot delicious pilaf.

There were the teams representing:

• Public organization Student Union "Manas";

• Krasnoyarsk regional public organization of youth of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) "Aartyk";

• Tajik, Yakutia, Khakassia, Kyrgyzstan and China diasporas.

Also there were the teams representing the Slavic, Gypsy and Scottish culture and the ten teams representing the students’ hostels.

"Such activities should be necessarily carried out at higher education institutions. The informal environment and atmosphere of competition allow to get acquainted with different cultures, their values, develops tolerance towards people of different nationalities, "- said SibFU Vice-rector Eugene Garin.

According to the specialist of the of Youth projects department Paul Akkubekov the festival organizers have deliberately chosen such a form for the event which allows each team to demonstrate national traditions: "The participants were able to compete in the popular entertainments: stone throwing, safed-chubak, a combat with bags, jumping over sledges and gorodky. One of the tasks for the teams demanded knowledge of different nationalities and cultures. "

Hostel department tutor Alexei Androsov is the big number of teams representing the hostels is demonstrating his colleagues’ good work: "The work of tutors is creative in its nature, we support a variety of forms of student activities. About one third of hostels organized the teams - this is a good result. The third festival haven’t finished yet and the students are already looking forward to the next. "

• Yui Yui, a student of the Institute of Philology and Language Communication -Special Prize (a gift - stylized thermos);

• the team "Ak-Kuular" - The Most Hospitable Team (a gift - 8 stylized T-shirts);

• the team "Aikhal" representing the ethnic vocal and dance studio "Aikhal" – The Most Spectacular Team (a present - 8 stylized thermoses);

• the team "Russian soul" from Hostel # 22 - The Most Creative (gift - 8 sleeping bags).

Nomination "Entertainment and Games":

• team "Aartyk" representing the Krasnoyarsk regional public youth organization of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) "Aartyk" – The Most United Team (a gift – computer mice to all the participant);

• the team " The Gypsies" representing Hostel # 20 - The Most Quick (a gift – sleeping bags for all the participants);

• the team "Siberian pelmenies" representing Hostel #28 - The Best Sportsmen (a gift - speakers for all the participant).

The contest "Tuing the rope" won " The Gypsies". They received a prize from the co-organizers of the festival - the student organization " SibFU Youth Union " - styled hats and scarves.
