 17 February 2016 within the framework of the VIII Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum a public lecture at the Siberian Federal University was held. The lecture was devoted to "National Policy in Russia: target setting, regional characteristics, evaluation of the expert community and mass consciousness."

Lecturer: Yuri Popov - Deputy Director for Research, Institute of Philosophy and Law, Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences. The lecture was attended by students, faculty, staff, graduate students, and all interested persons.

The problems of amplification of migration, growth and strengthening of multi-ethnicity and extending cultural complexity were touched upon. Issues of European migration crisis, the real situation in the world and the prospects of the Russian national policy, the preservation and revival of traditions and traditional culture were discussed.

Jury Popkov gave an overview of legislation in the sphere of Russian national policy, of then existing deficiencies and problems. Following the results of the lectures the author has put forward the idea that national policies should shift the focus from the formation and development of tolerance to cooperation to ensure the unity of the nation in preserving its diversity.
